A smashed guitar owned and played by the late Kurt Cobaine fetches $100 000 in an auction, to a private bidder.
This particular guitar was smashed at an early gig in New Jersey. Jacob McMurray, senior curator at the Experience Music Project in Seattle, states: “It’s a really cool-looking guitar because it’s smashed and held together with duct tape and Kurt Cobain wrote on it”.
This is the second most expensive bid on a Cobain item, being topped by a bid of $131 000 on an infamous Mosrite Gospel Mark IV guitar, owned by Cobain.
Wow, talk about an expensive purchase. Personally, I think this smashed guitar should have sold for more than the Mark IV. Nonetheless, another expensive purchase of an item from a music legend.
