Dimmu Borgir- In Sorte Diaboli

The Review:

Dimmu Borgir is an amazing band. Their immense popularity is evident all over the world; you are always bound to come across someone with a Dimmu Borgir shirt at a metal show. Interestingly, at the time of this review, nearly 5 million Dimmu Borgir tracks have been scrobbled on the website Last.fm, further highlighting their importance. Any piece of music from Dimmu Borgir is a brilliant death metal listen, this album is no exception. A slightly more symphonic sound meets metal in ‘In Sorte Diaboli’, and merges as a type of concept album, perhaps symbolizing the battle between good and evil, this becomes clearer when reading the lyrics. ‘In Sorte Diaboli’ is typically heavy/death metal in the sense that breakneck drum-speed, guitar solos, profound bass riffs and slapping are brought together by dark lyrics into a powerful album! Powerful enough to knock you socks off! Tread lightly!

Best Tracks:

‘The Serpentine Offering’ and ‘The Chosen Legacy’
