Lamb of God – Wrath

19 March 2009 5 Comments

Artist Name: Lamb of God
Album Name: Wrath
Year: 2009
Genre: Metal

We all know that the critically acclaimed album, Sacrament, was the secret weapon which truly elevated Lamb of God from bouncing around the underground scene to the headliners of metal concerts and festivals. Instead of doing the mature musician thing and going into the studio to write a more record-label-friendly album (and subsequently, increasing their bank accounts), LOG decided to piss on their commercial success and create a more savage, brutal record than ever before – Wrath.

From start to finish, Wrath is a merciless, sonic attack on your eardrums. The cleaner, heavier tones of the guitar, the earth-shattering double-bass assault, and gruff vocals straight from the underbelly of the beast, are sure to make you headbang like a nutter in traffic and start a moshpit with your mom and dad at home! There’s even an ode to their hardcore roots in the Sick of It All reminiscent track ‘Contractor’. In short, this is 2009’s metal album of the year, so you better buy it and just remember – if you do not like metal, you are not my friend.

P.S. Randy Blythe is truly the voice of Satan!

Best Tracks:
‘Fake Messiah’, ‘Contractor’, ‘Choke Sermon’ and ‘Set To Fail’

92/100
