HiKaToRi and Fear of Falling Tour Dates

HiKaToRi and Fear of Falling Tour Dates announced for KZN and EC
According to Authentic Ideas:
“Two of Johannesburg’s fastest growing bands, both discovered through Battle contests, take to the road this April.
Battle for Woodstock 2006 introduced HiKaToRi to the gigging scene and since then the band has grown into a formidable punk rock force. The Durex Ultimate Battle 2008 saw Fear of Falling as clear favourites from the start which they carried through to the end, winning the finals at the inaugural Lucky Fish Music Festival. Now these two bands, hit the road together to introduce their unique styles of music to KZN and the Eastern Cape.
HiKaToRi offers an astonishing percussive performance exploding with energy and enthusiasm, belting forth a bilingual blend of lyrics, punk and rock with a slightly harder edge every now and then. After winning Battle Vir Woodstock in ’06, they released a debut EP via ASP Records which won them an MK Award for Best SFX/Animation video for the song ‘Melkman’ as well as an MK nomination for Best Video for the track ‘Drome Van Fiksie’. They plan to release a full length album this year. HiKaToRi has performed at festivals such as The Lucky Fish Music Festival and Woodstock and never fail to impress unsuspecting punters.
Most recently, HiKaToRi collaborated with Afrikaans alternative folk outfit Duskant Ombliksem, to produce a raw and exquisitely emotional song and video to benefit the SPCA. Entitled ‘Naamloos Gehokte Nasie’ the song brings attention to the plight of animals under human “care”. The single has been made exclusively available from Exactmobile (sms SPCA to 33 333) and the video debuts this Wednesday (2 April) on MK, YouTube, MySpace and Facebook. All proceeds are being donated to the SPCA. Proceeds raised from the song will help the SPCA in their continuous fight to prevent and stop cruelty. More than 1 million animals are abused and killed in South Africa every year and during these difficult economic times, people are more likely to discard and abuse their animals. The song deals with the fact that animals have feelings and needs and should be treated with respect as they are unable to stand up for themselves against humans.
The band, Fear of Falling hails from the deep southern suburbs of Johannesburg City. Launching from the humble beginnings of a church worship band, two sets of high school friends combined to form the formidable Fear of Falling. Their intricate riffs, melodic choruses, energetic drumming and brutal screams combine to produce a strong and powerful band that has garnered a solid inner city following. They won the Support Search Show for Underoath last year as well as The Durex Ultimate Battle. Their music may be hard and in your face, but the messages are gentle and subtly backed by an abiding Christian belief.
These two bands are embarking on a ten day tour of Kwa-Zulu Natal and the Eastern Cape where new audiences will be exposed to the potency of their performances and their combined power.
