Jazz Sensation Set to Scoop Major Awards

Cape Town saxophonist, Moreira’s latest album, The Moreira Project Vol 2 – Citizen of the World, has been nominated for no less than three SAMA’s in the categories: Contemporary Jazz; Best Producer; Best Album Packaging.

Originally from Mozambique, Moreira has become one of Cape Town’s most celebrated musicians due to his distinct brand of African fusion jazz and energy. In 2002, he was named the runner-up in the annual Adcock Ingram Jazz Competition held by UCT. However, his crowning glory came in 2007, when his debut album The Moreira Project Vol 1 – The Journey was nominated in three categories and took home the SAMA award for Best Producer.
