R.O.W.A.C.A. Rockers Opposing Women and Child Abuse

30 May 2009 4 Comments

ROWACA is a collective group of musicians, music fans and agents which oppose women and child abuse.

ROWACA, founded by Wicked Mike, owner of Wicked Rock, is a collective group of musicians and music fans which aim to make a difference in South Africa.

According to their Facebook group, ROWACA is an organisation with the following goals and aims:

“Raise funds to assist children and women who are the main victims of crime through supporting charities and choosing individuals in dire straits for immediate support.

Raise awareness of the problems blighting South Africa.

Promote truth.

Encourage potest and activism.

We’ve made August Save the Kids month. Nationwide gigs will give voice to the plight of South Africa’s children whilst raising funds for a raped child, a charity, a protest CD and the running of ROWACA.

If you’re in a quality band, offer to help by setting up your own fundraiser, joining a line-up or donating one performance fee from that period.”

_____________

What a great initiative! I appeal to all bands to try and donate a gig to this cause. And all members of the general public, show your support by joining ROWACA’s facebook group.

hi Mike I am looking for artists who can do a twenty to thirty minute set of good songs or instrumental at an truly unplugged level. The audience is quiet. This is the Northway Showcase at Crusaders. Cheers Joh.
