Top 10 Halloween Songs
The time to dress up and trick or treat is upon us – so I hope you’ve all got a costume ready. However, you’re still going to need some ghoulish tunes to keep you company while you scare the pants off your neighbours. Here are Music Review’s top 10 songs for this Halloween.
10. Alkaline Trio – Calling All Skeletons
The mere mention of the word ‘skeleton’ automatically puts Alkaline Trio onto this list. Nice and catchy song too.
9. Rob Zombie – Superbeast
Do you remember the time when Rob wasn’t directing horror films and actually made music? I miss those days…
8. The 69 Eyes – Lost Boys
I bet you Edward Cullen wishes he had Jyrki’s low baritone voice. Even Bella thinks it’s like sex to the ears – so suck on that, you wimpy vampire!
7. Lordi – Blood Red Sandman
The 2006 Eurovision winners dress like monsters, write about monsters, and sound like monsters. And this music video is just…um…monstrous?!
6. Murderdolls – Love at First Fright
A love song written for Regan from The Exorcist has to be one of the most innovative (and disturbing) song ideas of all time!
5. Ozzy Osbourne – Bark at the Moon
It’s Ozzy! Do I need to say more?
4. Horrorpops – Miss Take
Psychobilly has never been this sexy! If you think the Suicide Girls are the hottest thing since Pamela Anderson’s right breast, do yourself a favour and watch this video!
3. Alice Cooper – Feed My Frankenstein
Welcome to his nightmare! The original master of shock is always a sure bet to carve a smile on your face this Halloween.
2. Wednesday 13 – I Walked With a Zombie
Known for his tongue-in-cheek lyrics, the dreadlocked demon from North Carolina has always looked at the funnier side of terror.
1. The Misfits – Halloween
No horror list could ever be complete without a mention of the legendary punk rockers, The Misfits. Absolutely brilliant!

Dude, Brilliant!!!
I’m so glad you stuck The Misfits in at number one, I totally agree!
2 more for the list:
Coal Chamber – Loco (It’s so Halloween!)
The Misfits – Dig Up Her Bones (You can never get enough Misfits)
‘Loco’ is a wicked video – even Ozzy makes an appearance.
Every Misfits vid could be a Halloween special. You should check out ‘Scream’ as well!
at first.. reading the title.. i was skeptical.. i groaned.. ugh.. the monster mash..
but then, i was plesantly surprised.
loved your choices.
and yeah, rob makes some crap movies but his music used to be ok. perhaps he should revert back to that.
bret.. in total agreement on the statement that you can never have too much misfits..
happy halloween and rock on..!
Ooooh nice post!
My list would have included Offspring – Beheaded and ICP – Bowling Balls http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djAJp2CT0qY (hahaha!)
