18 November 2009 3 Comments

MusicReview’s favourite live Metallica music videos.

Commercially, Metallica is the biggest selling and most successful metal band of all time. Having formed 18 years ago, Metallica has released no less than 12 albums and have toured 6 continents. So, down to business, here are MusicReview’s Top 10 Live Metallica Music Videos.

10. Nothing Else Matters

Perhaps Metallica’s most well-known track. Really great video this.

9. Enter Sandman

What a performance!

8. Whiskey in the Jar

I would pay a lot of money to see Whiskey in the Jar Live…

7. Orion

Yup, the awesome instrumental track, Orion, has been performed live and bloody well too…

6. Whiplash

A classic! Got me moshing!

5. Harvester of Sorrow

Brilliant track, great video.

4. The Unforgiven

Ballad meets destruction. The Unforgiven is our 4th favourite video…

3. One

One is probably Metallica’s most moving and dramatic performance. Not to be missed…

2. Fade to Black

Great video, awesome song.

1. Master of Puppets

Performed in Moscow in 1991, Metallica’s Master of Puppets is our favourite live video.

Phew, now that was hard. There are so many great live Metallica videos out there, it is hard to choose only ten. What are yours?

My number one was while sitting on the shoulders of my 2,1m tall buddy at the Metallica concert in pretoria and using my cell phone to take a video of The One….epic.

the rest…well, in counting up order:

    2) Orion (AWESOMEST song!!!!)
    3) MoP (the solo bit)
4-10) same a Bret’s, except Orion is 2) for me and therefore my number 7 is Fade to Black.

best. band. ever. ever. (that’s ever to the power of 2…like…hectic)
