Review: Marilyn Manson – Guns, God and Government World Tour DVD
Frankie reviews Marilyn Manson – Guns, God and Government World Tour DVD.
Title: Marilyn Manson – Guns, God and Government World Tour
Year: 2002
Genre: Alternative Rock
From 1999-2001, Marilyn Manson and his sideshow toured around the globe and this is the result of the macabre that took place. If you want a DVD that symbolises everything a Manson concert is about, you’ve got it right here. The 78-min show contains cuts from different concerts and is blended together behind one main audio track; something I found quite interesting. The band showcases their erratic, theatrical, and controversial shows, which they’ve become famous for, and belt out all their hits with venom and authority.
However, “The Death Parade” behind-the-scenes footage left me rather disappointed, because some of the best parts were blurred and censored – something I’d never expect from Mr. Manson. Nonetheless, it was probably more due to record label influence than his own. I was also disappointed that there weren’t more features like music videos or picture galleries – but despite this, I still think this disc is an essential for any Manson fan’s collection.
67/100
