Exclusive Preview: 12th Avenue’s ‘Hearts on Fire’

We listen to 12^th Avenue’s secret single.

Proving that MusicReview are at the forefront of local rock music, we’ve been given an exclusive and unmastered version of 12^th Avenue’s forthcoming single ‘Hearts on Fire’ to listen to.

The upbeat number off of the as-of-yet untitled album is definitely from the same production line as Sober, but it’s lyrically stronger and more commercially viable than previous singles from the Cape Town rock band. It’s the kind of track which will have all the office “poppies” shaking their asses and buying rock shirts as soon as it hits radio stations nationwide – thankfully, it’s still harder and possesses more street cred than a Jonas Brothers ‘pop-molesting-rock chords’ song.

Judging by ‘Hearts on Fire’, the crazy and flamboyant rockers from the Western Cape are aiming for even more success and I, for one, am eagerly anticipating their brand new album. On a side note, I’ve also been promised by the guys that there will be lots of dirty, sexy and heavy rock ’n roll numbers for all the headbangers who prefer ‘horns’ over ‘halos’ – so I’ll be keeping a close eye (and ear) on their recording progress just to make sure they deliver…
