Boo!’s Multi-Instrumentalist Is Rushed To Hospital

27 August 2010 No Comment

On the eve of their European comeback tour, Ampie Omo, Boo!’s multi-instrumentalist, was rushed to hospital only minutes before the band was due to appear on stage at Jozi music venue, Muso’s International.

Appearing on stage with the news, frontman, Chris Chameleon, beseeched  the crowd, “if you’d like us to go home, cheer. If you want the show to go on boooo!” And on the show went. Chameleon and Riaan van Rensburg, the latest addition to the three-piece, performed a stellar set held together by van Rensburg’s steady beats and Chameleon’s pristine bass playing and near-impossible vocal range.

Omo, who was diagnosed with exhaustion and a virus, was released from hospital today after spending the night on a drip and has been cleared for takeoff. The band leaves for Europe this evening. Catch them back in South Africa on October 9th 2010 at Rocking The Daisies in Cape Town.
