WANTED! A South African Band or Artist to Create the Title Track for NIGHT DRIVE
An exciting nationwide search to find the band or artist that will record the title track for SA’s first thriller-slasher movie NIGHT DRIVE begins today.
Taking their commitment to the development of local talent one step further, the Film Factory Team devised the WANTED! campaign aimed at finding a brand new original English rock track written and recorded by a local band or artist which will be used in the film. NIGHT DRIVE was Exec produced by The Film Factory.
The WANTED! initiative is being co-ordinated by one of the Film Factory Producers, Susana Kennedy who explains; “Whether bands and artists are firmly established, up-and-coming or brand new to the industry, we want everyone to compete and stand the exact same chance to win a once in a lifetime opportunity to be a part of the feature film. There is also the chance of global exposure through the international release of NIGHT DRIVE.”
NIGHT DRIVE is a gritty, nail-biting thriller-slasher set in the unforgiving South African bush, where an eclectic mix of tourists are left stranded whilst on a night safari. Local folklore speaks of the Hyena Man, a ruthless criminal mastermind known for trading with animals and animal body parts. Legend has it that he now heads up a well-armed, well-trained group of poachers on the hunt for human beings, dead or alive…
As a series of terrifying events unfold, they realize wild animals are the least of their fears. NIGHT DRIVE was written and directed by Justin Head and stars Christopher Beasley, Corine du Toit, Brandon Auret, Greg Melvill-Smith and Leroy Gopal.
The winner of the WANTED! competition will be selected based on the content, originality, style and sound of their original English rock track entered into the WANTED! Competition.
“We are looking to unearth a rocking-hot title track for our movie, and at the same time intend to provide an opportunity for a talented artist or band to get a foot in the door of an industry that is a tough one to crack,” Kennedy elaborates.
