MusicReview is a rock and alternative music website from South Africa.

Showcasing reviews, interviews, electronic entertainment, and the latest news from around the world, MusicReview is updated on a daily basis.

MusicReview.co.za was founded, designed and developed by brothers Bret Dugmore and Jason Dugmore in September 2005. Since then, it has had no less than 4 makeovers! In 2009, Sergio Pereira joined the management team.

MusicReview is currently South Africa’s leading independent music e-zine. With a 403% yearly growth trend, and recognition from most major record labels in South Africa, as well as international recognition from major artists such as Filter, The Temper Trap, Kiss, Placebo, Murderdolls, Pitchshifter and Collective Soul.

MusicReview has interviewed international bands and artists, such as Joey Jordison (Slipknot), Trivium, The Temper Trap, 30 Seconds to Mars, Band of Skulls, Filter, Pitchshifter, Nim Vind, Devin Townsend and Bleeding Through; as well as an assortment of local artists, such as The Parlotones, Prime Circle, GoodLuck, Jack Parow, Van Diens Af, 12th Avenue, Voodoo Child, The Narrow, The Awakening, Taxi Violence and Knave. MusicReview has acted to promote artists and products for Electromode, The David Gresham Record Company, Black Flys and Nokia amongst others, and has reviewed numerous international and local albums. MusicReview’s articles and features are based on diverse topics within the general music category, with a primary focus on rock and alternative-related content.

MusicReview has been received tremendously well by local and international audiences and boasts a diverse readership. MusicReview’s traffic comes from more than 160 countries, but is dominated by South African, American and British audiences.
