Busting the charts is the name of the game for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, as they’ve entered the top of the UK chart with their new album, I’m With You.

New Found Glory To Release “Radiosurgery”

The anticipated new album Radiosurgery from pop punk heroes New Found Glory is set to arrive in stores October 4th via Epitaph Records. The first single from the album, title track ‘Radiosurgery’ is currently available for download at iTunes.

The album Radiosurgery continues the band’s high energy musical journey while simultaneously paying homage to the bands that inspired them to first pick up instruments as teenagers back in Coral Springs Florida.

“Our music is constantly evolving and changing and when this band puts out an album we always try to offer something different,” explains guitarist Chad Gilbert. “With this disc we wanted to go back to the music that got us into punk and incorporate influences from those albums.”

For this latest venture, New Found Glory was aided by a trusted producer Neal Avron, who worked with the band on Catalyst in 2004, and has honed his chops in the interim with artists like Fall Out Boy and Linkin Park. The resulting songs sound undeniably like New Found Glory but they also have a timeless punk feel that will appeal to both diehard fans as well as new converts.

“This album is a culmination of all of our albums put together and in a lot of ways we feel like a new band when we’re playing these songs because they’re so energized and they affirm the fact that we’re going to be a band for a long time,” summarizes guitarist Steve Klein. “In a lot of ways it feels like we’re just getting started.”

Sonata Arctica: New Live DVD

Finnish metal band Sonata Arctica will be releasing a new live DVD. Live In Finland shows the full concert that was played on the 15th of April 2011 in Club Teatria in Oulu, Finland. Apart from timeless classics à la ‘Full Moon’ or ‘Letter To Dana’, various tracks of the current album The Days Of Grays have found their way into the setlist, thus on the DVD as well. This heady mixture of old and new compositions of SONATA ARCTICA is supplemented by a bonus DVD on which four recorded tracks of the very own SONATA ARCTICA festival can be found, that took place on the 8th of August 2009 in Kemi. Furthermore, the viewer can enjoy the music videos of ‘Don’t Say A Word’, ‘Paid In Full’ and ‘Flag In The Ground’ as well as a photo galery and some “making of”s that document the DVD’s creation. The enclosed bonus CD with eight audio recordings of the festival concert puts the final touches on this release, so that Live In Finland will make each and every SONATA ARCTICA fan cry tears of joy.

Keyboarder Henrik Klingenberg says, “It’s been a very hot summer here in Finland, and while most people headed to the beach, we’ve been working our asses off editing and compiling our new DVD. This time around we wanted to give you a show from our homecountry Finland. The main show was filmed at the Teatria club in Oulu, Finland, last April. It showcases Sonata Arctica towards the end of the Days of Grays World Tour which started back in 2009. We played a total of over 180 shows in almost 40 countries during the tour. This will be a 2-DVD release with lots of bonuses, we’ll have tour documentaries, making of’s as well as music videos and bonus songs from our very own Sonata Arctica Open Air festival, held in our hometown, Kemi in August 2009. Wether you missed us or checked us out during this world tour, this DVD will be the complete guide to what we’ve been up to these past two years. I’m sure you all will enjoy watching this DVD as much as we’ve enjoyed making it. The Days of Grays World Tour has been absolutely fantastic and I’m very happy that we’ve managed to capture all the ups and downs on film. Live In Finland is set to be released on October 28, 2011 via Nuclear Blast Records.

Eisley Announce Valleyscapes Headlining Tour

Indie-pop quintet, Eisley have announced ValleyScapes, a one-month long headlining tour with support from Tampa, FL-based band Marksmen and younger sister, Christie DuPree. Along the route, Eisley will also perform at the 2011 Bumbershoot Festival in Seattle, WA.

Eisley has also announced that they are currently recording a new EP, with an anticipated release of late 2011. Andy Freeman, who mixed the band’s latest release, The Valley, has joined the band in Tyler, TX to produce the album. Recording on location at the house of vocalist/guitarist Sherri DuPree-Bemis, Freeman has transformed the house into a high-tech recording studio.

The EP will feature more of Eisley’s signature sound of airy dreaminess delicately intertwined with breathtaking vocals, intricate, rich guitar work and whimsical lyrics.

Freeman elaborates, “Their music has always had a great sense of place, and I wish every fan could see the house they grew up in because it tells a great story. The art on the walls, the paint colors, the antique signs and paintings…their songs tie into all of that, and these little bits and pieces of their childhood home found their way into their music and creative sensibilities in one form or another. Sherri’s house, where we’re recording right now, is a continuation of that. Her personality – and that of her husband, Max – infuses every detail of the house.”

DuPree-Bemis adds, “This is the first time we’ve ever recorded a real project in our homes, we’re really excited. Being able to do this in the comfort of our own home is going to make the project really beautiful because everyone feels so relaxed.”

So Many Ways: Cover Art and Track Listing Revealed

Chicago’s pop-punk thrash group, So Many Ways, have just revealed the cover art, track listing and release date for their Mightier Than Sword Records label debut. Their self-titled album will be out on September 13, 2011.

Since their formation in January 2009, So Many Ways have had their fair share of line-up changes. After recording the Real Talk EP with Jay Maas (Defeater, Bane) at Getaway Group studios later that summer, the band played a few shows together before parting ways with their then-bassist, drummer, and keyboard player.

Not soon after the departure of those members, guitarists Jason Milbank, Murphy Welch and vocalist Colin Corley found themselves with a brand new rhythm section. After traveling to Florida to play a short string of shows, the band recorded their Floridian EP with Chris Hiser (Away With You). Floridian hinted at SMW’s heavier influences, but only showed a glimpse into what the band would become.

After saying goodbye to yet another rhythm section later that year, So Many Ways welcomed drummer Keith Dow into the mix. The band recently added bass player Chris Catterson (ex Nightlights and Away With You) to the line-up.
