The Sick-Leaves

The Sick-Leaves is an established rock artist from Johannesburg, South Africa who has twice been nominated for a SA Music Award in the category of Best Alternative Album: English (2007 & 2009).
Both Tunnel Vision and Stone the Crow were released independently and are available for sale at gigs, cd stores nationally and digitally.
The Sick-Leaves is the solo project of Eksteen Jacobsz who is the songwriter, vocalist, bassist and guitarist for The Sick-Leaves.
High profile performances of 2009 included main stage performances at the South Africa’s premier music festivals and numerous gigs around the country. Festival performances include:
Rocking the Daisies (www.rockingthedaisies.com), Oppikoppi (www.oppikoppi.co.za), St Stithians College Arts Festival, Pinkie Fest (www.pinkiefest.co.za) Vrede Fest IIII and Synergy Live amongst others.

The Sick-Leaves have two music videos on rotation on MK & one on rotation on Vuzu & MTV Europe.
The Sick-Leaves have performed on the MK live show ‘Studio 1’ and interviewed on My MK Celeb.
The music video ‘All These Foolish Things (I’ve said)’ is nominated for a 2010 MK Award in the category of Best Animation SFX.
Two singles off the debut album Tunnel Vision were playlisted on 5FM with The Sick-Leaves being interviewed 5FM after the 2009 SAMA nomination.
The Sick-Leaves’ rendition of Everything but the Girl’s ‘90s classic hit ‘Missing’ reached the number one slot on KFM/Highveld radio’s Homebrew Top Ten Chart that is voted solely by the listeners.
The Sick-Leaves song ‘All These Foolish Things (I’ve said)’ was used for the tv & radio ad for the SA music festival Rocking the Daisies with the ad being broadcast on MK, youth channel Vuzu and 5FM.
The third album Last Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy has been produced by Darryl Torr at SABC’s M5 studios and is to be released in March 2010.
The Sick-Leaves performed on 5FM’s (Live)5 show on 30th January which was broadcast nationally.
